Dear Families,
Australian Catholic Education Conference
Last week I had the privilege of attending the Australian Catholic Education Conference in Cairns. This inspiring gathering brought together 1,500 delegates from across the country, with highlights including a Mass celebrated alongside 1,000 students from schools and colleges in the diocese of Cairns. The program featured an outstanding range of keynote speakers, including Professor Dylan Wiliam, Dr Jordana Hunter, Dr Steve Costantino, and Dr Simon Breakspear. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and reflect on the future of Catholic education in Australia.
Book Fair – Thank You!
A big thank you to everyone who supported our recent Book Fair. It’s always such a joy to see students so excited about choosing new books! Your purchases help provide new resources for our students in the Library. We especially appreciate the efforts of Gab Fisher and staff who worked hard in setting up, packing away, and assisting families – we really appreciate the time and effort that went into making the fair such a success.
Book Week Parade
What a joy it was to see our students’ creativity and enthusiasm at the Book Week Parade! The fabulous costumes and big smiles showed just how much our students enjoy celebrating books and reading. Thank you to families for your support in helping bring this much-loved event to life.
Grade 5 Camp
Our Grade Five students had a wonderful two-night camp this week at Roches Beach on the outskirts of Hobart. The camp provided a valuable opportunity for students to spend time together, develop teamwork, and enjoy the beauty of the local environment. Camps are such a special part of school life – a chance for students to build friendships, independence and lasting memories. Thank you to the staff who gave their time and energy to make it all possible - Pat O’Brien, Matt Luttrell, Mel Scharvi, Dylan Burnett, Chelsea Browning and Di Bourke.
This morning we farewelled our Grade Three’s off for their first school camp - we can’t wait to hear all about it!
Welcome to Erin O’Callaghan
We warmly welcome Erin O’Callaghan to our school community. Erin will be job-sharing with Missy Harwood in the school office, working from Wednesday to Friday. We are delighted to have her join our team.
Kind regards,
Susan McGann
